A nice easy bag to start the day with. I often say the first pillar in any of my trigspeditions sets the tone for the day, and this one was no exception, being in a field full of noisy sheep. I have never been baaed at so much in one morning... unremarkable, but in good condition, has a decent view, and was easily accessed.

Sheep pasture, easy access via the service resr access track. Erosion around the base of the pillar has exposed the plinth a bit but all stable enough. Horizontal hair fracture on one side, extending round to others. Original centre cap is retained, deeply indented lettering; LHS sight hole open. Extensive views South & West.

I pulled off the road and drove up towards the telecoms mast to park up. Hopped over the gate and into the livestock field (horses and sheep for the use of, going by the evidence on the ground, but empty today) for a short walk across to the trig. Good views to the W.

Parked in the entrance to the mast. Fortunately I left plenty of space for acccess. A minute later the farmer drew up and went into the field. He was very happy for me to visit the trig. Vgc - cap intact.

Im staying with good but there are some significant cracks at half height that will bear watching over time. Watch out for the speed camera if approaching the turn on the B-Road from the east.

We parked at the entrance to the track to the mast, walked up this, and then around the west side of the reservoir in a sheepy field. The trig has good views west. The base is quite badly eroded. Plug with indented lettering.

Great view from this one. You can see it from the road, as it is standing exposed in the middle of a field next to a transmitter site and reservoir. Cap in place, no damage to pillar.
