Easy find using the 9.9m measurement from barrier. Bolt has become dislodged, consequently cover cannot now be closed properly.

(28) I have come across this before, but I shall log this visit as my first. Easy enough to find. Only covered by a layer of dead grass, and not soil. Lid no longer closes properly. Geocache stored inside.

Had to poke under the grass for this one, about 1" of turf over the top. The lid is also not properly fixed. This is the first of this type we have seen, so quite pleased to have found it! We replaced as found to protect from further damage to the lid.

Didn't need measurements today. Very obvious in short grass. Inside it's half filled with sand.

Easily visible in mown strip adjacent to road to playing field car park. No OS sketch so measurements are: 9.90m from base of lifting car park barrier; 3.35m from kerb; and 10.60m from lamp-post on opposite side of road. The cover plate now no longer shuts as reinforcement strip on underside fouls the top of the internal bolt. Can't believe OS installed like this (as the previous pictures show it properly closed) so suspect someone has tried to remove the innards or the outer casing has subsided. Also inside was a geocache.

Armed with Iain's picture, I was successful in finding the Berntsen this time. The verge had been mown but some poking around was needed because it is a couple of inches below the surface.

My old GPS is not accurate enough to find this one buried in the verge, but I was content to know it was still there somewhere.

The location is the entrance to a public space called Homestead Park.
