Parked at the county boundary and followed the fence line first, then up the tussock covered fell side to the top. Super views today in the sun,the trig is all intact with a very remote feel to this one. Got a wet foot on the way back for the first time for ages

Second visit, same route as before from the cattle grid. Not quite the pure blue skies of my first visit but still fabulous views in all directions, again I lingered for quite a while at the summit. I'd highly recommend this hill to anyone whose not visited it yet!

Usual approach from cattle-grid to north. Summit cairn been reshaped into a shelter around the pillar. The summit has a line of rubble enclosing it. We wondered if it was prehistoric (like the cairn allegedly is) but the official heritage site says it's probably a post-medieval ruined wall around a plantation, despite there being no evidence of trees ever having been planted. https://canmore.org.uk/site/67879/tinnis-hill

#800. As many people, parked at the cattle grid and followed the fence line till adjacent to the trig. I continued on around to the SW where the hill is less steep. Ground was very boggy in places but has an atv and animal tracks alongside the fence to make weaving in between the tussocks easier. Not to hard going with the tussocks.

Parked by the cattle grid to the north. Followed the boundary fence across the moor land. Weather was poor with low clouds and heavy showers so the view was limited.

A nice straight-forward loop walk from Copshie. Many tussocks! Good views including the Solway. Quite bleak, but did see three grouse.

Lovely hill... rubbish wet ground to get to it though. Parked at cattle grid a mile or so north (NY 4258 8721). Ground saturated due to rcent heavy rains - wet feet! Pillar sits in a shelter cairn a metre or so from the hill's summit. An original centre cap is retained, raised lettering; rear sight hole open. Extensive panoramic views.

Stunning day's weather. Perfect for Trig bagging - maybe should have picked a few closer to home then just this one at the far reach of what I could drive to, climb, and get back in time for my afternoon shift! Well worth the effort, this is a very shapely hill well seen as you approach from the east with a fantastic 360 degree panorama. The approach from the cattle grid, is, as others have said below not exactly a croquet lawn. Best stick close by the fence than attempt a more direct route over the moor. Lingered quite a while on the top savouring the wonderful views.

Parked by the cattle grid on the Newcastleton - Langholm road to the north followed by a hard, wet trudge to the pillar through bog, hidden drainage ditches and tufted grass and a steep climb so not surprising perhaps that it hasn't been logged for 4 years even though it's relatively close to the road. Third of a three pillar walk also taking in Cooms Fell and Roan Fell. Decent views and pillar appears unchanged since the last description.
