My third visit. After Storm Arwen knocked over half the trees in Northumberland and the Borders I fully expected the rotten tree stump next to this pillar to have gone, but amazingly it's still there! ~~ 31/08/19: Visited a week earlier however as we arrived a storm broke around us, it was very dark, couldn't appreciate the views, got soaked and the photos taken were rubbish. So I returned on a bright, clear afternoon for a much more satisfactory visit. Excellent views of the Dirringtons to the N and the Black Hill to the W.

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 8th March 1953 costing £15.19s.6d. In 1955 the flush bracket was levelled for height. This marker was computed for triangulation as tertiary station NT72/T102 in the Jedburgh secondary block in 1957. The trig point was last maintained by the OS in November 2000. FB faces nominally west. On the eastern edge of an arable field. Minor digging was required to reveal FB number.
