Lady of the house (#2 High Fords Close) happy to let me come through - "it's another one of those trig point nutters Dave" she called to her husband who was eating lunch in the kitchen (substitute appropriate name for Dave as don't think I have that right). Pillar sits in the corner of a small garden at rear of the house. Asphalt centre plug; rear sight hole plug degrading, RHS hard against fence so not checked, front and LHS holes closed. No views.

I had hoped to bag this one when I was working in the area as an electrician (2006-2010). Visited many homes in the village but not this one. My wife Jenny and I knocked on the door and were greeted by a very friendly but slightly bemused lady. She told us we were the 5th callers to see the pillar and she was considering charging an admission fee. We were shown to the trig which is in the corner of the garden, decorated with flowers. It appears to be very well looked after !

Re-bagged today after a couple of attempts when no one in, no problem today, showed into back garden. Pillar good condition, still with flower pots on top. Views of back garden.

I looked at the map and saw it shown but had not looked on the site before going along (nagged poor hubbie to do so as we were visiting Rye, near by) I may knock next time I am down that way. Showed it as good due to other comments.

Knocked at the door with my (2 year old) helper. Lovely old lady showed me through and let me take pictures. She told me about a book on Sussex trig points which features the pillar in her back garden.

Brilliant! I love pillars in gardens and they are few and far between these days. In the garden of Bungalow No. 2 and a really lovely elderly couple live there, who were only too pleased to show me the pillar. All sightholes are closed. Ashphalt plug replacement. No paint and no views. Had a pleasant chat about trig points later.

This is as said before in the back garden of No.2 - didn't want to bother the residents - so logged as Good due to previous logged images. Will continue to try, hopefully i'll see the residents in the garden one day.

Still there!! In E corner of back garden of No 2 High ?Ford Rd, exactly as implied by gridref. FB on SW face, asphalt plug obscured by large plant pot. Only access is thru bungalow itself. For some reason the owners allowed a sweaty scruffy individual thru to see and photograph it.

It appears to be in the ground of some bungalows, so i strongly suspect that is gone forever. Walked around quite a bit an no sign, nor in the grounds of the school nearby. I didnt go in the grounds so it could concievebly be in the hedge?
