Parked at forest road end off main road. Up to bench on left and took remains of track just before bench. Disturbance due to felling. Turned too soon (no white marker anymore). Horrid ascent zig zagging past fallen trees. White paint slowly washing off pillar to expose red, white&blue paintwork. Predictably found way down (and up!) is marked with faded grey tinsel. Make sure to go at least 100 yards on the track when you turn left at the benchpast or you will regret it.

Second visit. For photographs and GPS reading. SITE VISIT: Approached from north. Parked in forest track entrance at NS883335. Followed track to NM879329 then up firebreak east to high point and north through trees to summit. In summit clearing on wooded hill. Pillar in good condition, last painted white despite previously having other colour schemes. Spider retains original OS cap with raised large narrow letters. Flush bracket faces NNE, ~19. Vented through NW sight hole. No view due to surrounding trees.

Arrived here in good time to see the sun setting behind Mull. The area to the east of the pillar is littered with wind-fallen trees, so take care if approaching from that direction.

View almost blocked by trees now

Less than 20 minutes from Dunbeg bus stop. Initially followed track, then turned left onto path just before bench. About 50-100m after white topped marker went straight up left through trees. Easy!!

Raised but heavily over-painted lettering on the cap with only the West sight open. The neds have returned and started scratching their names through the thick white paint to the red, blue and rock below. A sobering wee hike after a guid nicht in Dunbeg was rewarded by this wee clearing with views over treetops to the bay beyond. The white arrows on trees direct uphill and thro the woods quite handily. Crashed due NorthWest coming down - luvly n spongey underfoot! ..Watch out for a red-headed pixie atop the pillar! :D

A real challege to reach it. Guided in last stage by white painted arrows. Reached it the long way by walking round to end of track. Descended by direct route through dense woodland. The red & blue is showing through the white paint in places.

vgc, metal cap, small raised letters. White, although has previously been red, also blue - very pro-Union! In small clearing at summit, in Sitka, with paintmarked trail leading in from ride to NE. Track enters forest at 883335, not marked on my old LR49.

Excellent views but a real bash thru the plantation to get to the trig. Looks like it has been 'nedified' in the colours of Glasgow Rangers. Well different! I even found the old paint pots down at the tree edge. Not so nifty. Otherwise in good nick. Is there really so little else to do out here?

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 10th July 1958, no cost on record. In 1960 this marker was computed for triangulation as tertiary station NM52/T37 in the Mull secondary block. Flush bracket S9787 was levelled for height also in 1960. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in May 1981. Normal tapered square section pillar. Spider retained stamped font OS centre plug. Rough ferny terrain. Visited 3rd September 1991 whilst on business in Oban, GRP.
