Walked up the mast access track from B862. Steep rutted track comprising large loose stones, not feasible to drive unless in a tracked vehicle, gate locked anyway otherwise may have tried it. Pillar sits adjacent to the unfenced comms buildings and mast. Centre cap missing, no plug; rear sight hole plugged, other 3 open. Extensive panoramic views.

Parked opposite the access track for the masts. Plenty of room. Lots of snow this morning had made for an interesting drive. Clear blue skies and hardly any wind produced fantastic views all round. The trig was dwarfed by the adjoining mast but it didn't diminish the panorama at all. A cracking hill which was well worth the effort.

A tough walk up to this one in the gail force wind and snow. Amazing views from up here. Found a wee sheltered bit for some lunch (supplied as usual by TJR's) then time for the photo shoot. Great fun after all the holiday stuff. Cheers

Steep track to this one but worth it for the views, very windy at the top and what a racket the wind makes round the mast. After a chat with the other trig eventers it was off down the hill and home to a warm cuppa!

Parked beside track entrance at NH597298. The `Police notice` on the gate prohibiting parking does not look like a genuine police notice. It is probably an offence to proclaim that! Followed track all the way to top. Recent rainfall has eroded this track to the point where only an ATV would get up there. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces 288 (WSW). Vented through NE sight hole. Fantastic views all round but the possibility of a 360 panorama from one particular point has been scuppered by all the clutter associated with the O2 comms mast.

Iainmac will be pleased to know this trig has not been fenced-in, but remains standing defiant despite the best efforts of the ugly O2 mast and associated detritus next door. Long slog up through snow and mud handsomly rewarded with stunning views all around.

Watch where you park as police notice on gate (see pic). I parked just 100 yards down the road just to be safe. The old bill go everywhere these days. Anyway what a fantastic walk up to the trig although quite a steep one. Trig itself situated right beside a O2 mobile phone mast. Spectacular views all round. There was also quite a lot of snow and this only added to the breathtaking scenery. An enjoyable experience
