Quite local for me so decided to go for a walk, after doing some BM's, and try out my new GPS! Knew this had gone but hadn't looked for this before. Passed several what appeared to be better vantage points to place a pillar before getting to the right coordinates. If this is still about it is well buried. May come to light when area is felled in the future maybe but as for now I'd agree with destroyed. Note small area outside park opposite football field on road has free parking, near bm too!

Visited while junior helped with disabled skiing at ski centre. The country park is a large area of forestry criss crossed with tracks. Most of forestry has been thinned by part felling some time ago to allow diversity to flourish. The area around the trig hillock was typical, with alot of scrub between pines, ground thick with accumulated forest detritus and coated with a thick covering of moss. As expected, no evidence of remains at gps location of the pillar but any that were there would be well buried. Note parking in Pembrey country park £4/2hr, £8/2hr+

Visited on the off chance there maybe some remains. Location sits off a path at the summit of a hill. Lots of bramble and ivy. Could not see ground to see if anything remains.

Nice lovely walk through the forestry until a herd of cows came towards us and started to follow us when looking for the trig point

Tracks through the forest to the E of the trig site, approx SN 390 022, then old track trending E. Up onto bank above, very brambly, couldn't find the enigmatic concrete lump. Wandered around until the brambles got the better of us

Another visit and this time I did not find the concrete lump I found a few years ago.

Close to brambly summit in open pine. Couldn't spot Dustys concrete, presumably hidden in brambles. Explored vicinity as best I could. Noting Dustys historical notes, odd that pillar was destroyed 09/55 i.e. 25 years after forest planted, seems too soon for harvesting. From SE, forest road most of the way, nice early morning stroll; high tech parking machine not working

All that we found was a piece of concrete 18 inches by 10 inches. This could be bit of the trigpoint as it seems a strange spot to find such material. Of course this could be debris from something else. Pembrey Country Park was bought by Llanelli Borough Council in 1980. From 1881 until 1965 the area had been involved in the manufacture of explosives. The forestry was planted from 1930 to protect the dune system.
