vgc, metal cap, deep letters. On hedgebank SW side of small pasture, close to farm but secluded. Was covered by a mass of ivy. Spent a while trying to prune my way in to the top cap; finally gave in and stripped the whole lot off, rather spoiling the effect - sorry! Water tap located at base of plinth.

This is one of the shittiest trigs I've ever been to - literally! We parked on the lane down to Trythance just past the road that goes down to Trevean. We went through the gated farmyard and turned right along the footpath to Trevalsoe. After the first stile I headed up to the top right hand corner of the next field and climbed over the hedgebank. I headed to the hedge with the trig in it and realised I'd have to climb into the next field to have a decent look at it. This involved stepping across some congealed cow shit and climbing over a low hedgebank. The trig does indeed look like an ivy tree as NR says. I climbed onto the plinth looking for the FB and managed to fall off into brambles and the aforementioned shite - not very pleasant! I could have read the FB from the east side without climbing onto the plinth at all if I'd been a bit more patient! I didn't check out the plug as the top of the pillar is massively overgrown and I was wary of being spoted by the farmer. On returning to the car I had to change all my clothes; pants, trousers, vest, T shirt, jacket the lot - the only thing not contaminated with shite were my socks! Is it all worth it one asks oneself, although it did bring a smile to Shane's face!

Well you would have thought this one was an ivy tree!! Tricky to get to, had to follow a fox/badger track over the hedge. Seem to remember a few years ago having a problem with the farmer re access through what I thought was a footpath. Anyway he seemed to be sleeping on a Sunny Sunday afternoon
