A very easy find. still uncovered but peregrinus measurements will be great if it gets overgrown again.

Decided to take a circular walk from Wye church up to the North Downs above The Crown returning via Coldharbour Lane and taking in the other Wye trig en route. Berntsen eminently visible today, field recently ploughed.

No searching required - today.

This is obviously one to visit in the winter months (as I did previously with success). Crops and wild vegetation have spread right up to the road, see photo.

There is a good view of Wye Memorial Crown from here; this was cut into the side of the North Downs by Wye College students in 1902 to commemorate the coronation of Edward VII. Those having difficulty finding this plate should look in the NORTH WEST quarter of the crossroads where the North Downs Way crosses Little Olantigh Road.

Somehow we had the coordinates for this on the GPS but not the description on the palm, so we thought we were looking for a FBM from the name of the trig. The coordinates put us in the middle of a dirt track and all we could see was a square of concrete that Adam thought once may have been the bottom of a pillar. Now we know we were looking for a Berntsen we might go back and look again, though if it is there it must be under the grass in the verge. ETA: 27/12/04 - tried again today but still no luck.
