Couldn't spot this at all. The verge has been pretty chewed up with water works by the looks of things.

Couldn’t find the berntsen. Given over the last 15+ years it’s never been found I think this one has been destroyed.
TP0659 Approximate location where the berntsen was located.

Parked on Plovers Way to view the two FBMs but no evidence that Aux still exists.

Grass verge at S side junction Cotmer Rd and Plovers Way. Didn't spend too much time looking for this. Clip below from 1964 1:2k5 map shows where it should be (crowsfoot shows position of South FBM).

Had a quick prod without expectation. Found various service covers, but no Berntsen.

These are usually possible without the OS sketch but not today like others it seems to be on the grass but not visibly so

Erm .... the piece of concrete previously uncovered was in fact a piece of concrete @3-4 inches thick.:-(. therefore there still is a chance the real Berntsen is still there?? Anyone got a metal detector???

Returned to Carlton Colville having scaled the position onto the 1:1250 map accompanying Whitton Green South FBM. Using a tent peg I probed all across an area 5mx5m where the Berntsen Monument should be, but no little alloy Manhole Cover was found. The only feature that was found was an oval shaped flatish topped concrete mound about 0.3mx0.2m. This feature is 19.8m northeast of the Whitton Green South FBM and c1.2m in from the kerb.
View northwards towards the road junction and the concrete pad.
The concrete pad which has no obvious bolt, rivet or marker.
