Pillar sited between two gorse bushes in a very beautiful common. No views from the pillar, but an expansive view across the scrubby heathland just a few metres away. Common occupied by shaggy haired cattle at time of visit, but they weren't particularly interested in trigpointers. Two corners of pillar are chipped.

Parked to the east in the Iping Common car park and then walked to the pillar. Apart from a few chunks out of two of the corners the pillar in a good condition.

Walked across the A272 from the garage area to find the bridleway track south to the trig point.

At the end of the day - with burnt common land all around, the sky rapidly darkening, and spits of rain in the air this pillar had a very menacing feel to it. On a sunny day no doubt a delight.

Circular walk from Stedham Nature Reserve CP, to here and onwards to Woolbeding, overcast but v mild, wonderful snowdrops en route. Fifteen years minus a month since we were last here - trig has been completely cleared of vegetation v recently, and is now standing proudly in the open. Metal cap, deep letters, damage to NW corner of top, some surface cracking of concrete over all the pillar, all s/holes buried in the remains of the recent bush whacking, otherwise all fine.

From Iping & Stedham nature reserve car park. Due W on heathland paths to trig. Pillar has a patina of hair fractures on all vertical faces. Top screed cracked all over with one top corner missing. Original cap in place, deeply indented lettering; LHD side sight hole sealed, rest below gnd level. Gorse encroaching, cut back a fair bit. Distant views N & S; E & W obscured by gorse and scrub.

Walked from car park on Elstead Road just south of A272. and found pillar tucked away in the gorse to the side of the path. Lovely views of South Downs, also spotted what looked very like a Red Kite too.

Parked in the car park on the Elsted Road to the east, then took a pleasant circular stroll across Iping and Trotton Commons via the Serpent Trail, taking in the trig. Very wet and muddy underfoot.

Visited this one on way home from Cocking/South Downs Way walk. Parked just off the A272 near a garage, and scrambled through bushes and up onto Trotton Common. Very sodden and squelchy - definitely the right decision to wear wellies - with the low winter sunshine blinding (no shades!) it was with a little difficulty I located pillar s 6372 in open heathland.

I parked on the minor road to the west and used tracks and footpaths to reach the pillar. It is in good condition and still has an original metal indented lettered plug. A lovely heathland location which looks well walked if the number of footpaths is anything to go by.

I parked on the side of the busy road just at the junction where the old road heads off to a garage (almost due north of where the footpath to the trig takes a 90 degree bend. I found where this path meets the road, although the footpath sign was buried in undergrowth and the way to get to it was not the real way (because the real way was impassable!). Once onto the path a simple stroll to the trig. This is similar to the one at Ambersham (TP0833) in its situation - on heathland amongst the heather and is another lovely place. Had I had time it would have been nice to explore Trotton Common and Iping Common rather more than just a whistle stop trig visit. Me 62m

Decided to go and find this one as we have not been out for a while. On our journey we passed a friends house in Rogate, told her of our quest and she knew exactly where it was, this trigging is getting to easy. Trig is in good condition on heath land, nice walk around the area.
