called into the Fox Cub pub/restaurant on way home from work, reasonable beer available. This is part of the redevelopment of the area including houses and business units. Large areas fenced off but a glimpse through the security fences shows the tree still remains. I presume the trig has not be resurrected as could only get within 20M of recorded grid reference with only building works visible.

Nothing of interest, except perhaps for the tree in the middle of the car park; I wonder why it was spared?

Visited straight after a church service at St. Nics, Durham, led by Andrew Trigger (fancy being called A. Trigger!). Had a picnic with Bergfuehrer in the Black and Decker car park - he really knows how to show a girl a good time!!

Quite a coincidence this one! I was off to a business meeting so typed the co-ordinates of my destination into the Search facility and up popped a trig point only 100 meters away. When I read the logs I realised why - my meeting as in Black & Decker. The trig is indeed gone - I stood exactly where it used to be. You should be able to dive into the car park unchallanged as it is before the security gate and because they have a B&D retail outlet on site which you could say you intended to visit - you know the drill.

The site of the trig is now a protected car park for Black and Decker Spennymoor. Nearest we got to actual trig site was about 50m looking through the fence.(GRP Trigonomy has it as (S)4177 destroyed 6/70).
