Parked by the County Boundary sign S of the hill. Set off up the hill along an ATV track that follows along the county boundary directly to the TP. The going underfoot is very easy going, however the gradient is not. A good work-out for your calves going up and your quads coming down! Absolutely magnificent day, freezing cold and icy but not a cloud in the sky or a stitch of wind. Views outstanding in all directions. The damage (I.e. vandalism) to the pillar is very similar to that inflicted on Grey Hill and Deadwater Moor (both within sight of this hill) Suspect it's the same bastard that has taken a lump hammer to all 3 of them...

Condition gets worse, cap now gone and spider very exposed. Who on earth would come all this way with hammers, chisels or whatever for this piece of metal? From Linhope on circuit of nearby hills.

Tudhope Hill The tripoint showing the one plugged sight hole to NW, other three open.
Tudhope Hill The FB, still intact for the time being. Faces NE.
Tudhope Hill Top of trig, no cap and spider not long for this world...

Parked in forestry track entrance. Followed track until almost the end and began the ascent where there's an excavation into the hillside. The first part of the slope has been recently planted so will become difficult in a few years time. Once out of the plantation it's just a slog over tussocky grass. Panoramic vew from trig. There's some recent damage to the top (with the debris scattered around the base of the pillar) and the spider is now exposed.

Parked in the old quarry to the south and took in the pillar on a circular route including Millstone Edge-Langtae Hill-Cauldcleuch Head-Muckle Land Knowe-Pennygant Hill and Stob Fell. Belting weather and terrific views of including The Lammamuirs-Cheviots-North Pennines-Lake District-Broad Law-Moorfoot Hills. Met the same farmer setting the corvid trap as the previous visitors.

Forestry mostly cut down--but replanted with young trees.Followed track to end then up fenceline. Interesting crow trap, man was restocking it with food (eggs) and water as we passed.
