Drove beneath it heading S after bagging St Catherine's Hill (and on numerous previous occasions). OS records say refixed Refixed 1987 (not physically, just re-coordinated - it moved all of 1cm south), Destroyed 10/92

Drive by on way to Southampton and circle dancing next day back in Winchester cathedral. I remember well all the furore and protesters battles over theM3 extension. Thanks to Roger Templeman for an actual pic of the deceased.

Parked 900m NE and walked to location where trig would have been sited, initially through nature reserve, then along field boundary. St Catherine's Hill prominent to N across M3. Motorway busy and noisy - is it anything other?

Driven past here dozens of times, but this is the one to log under my 'nearest RoW' rule - day 1 of the Pilgrims' Trail from Winchester to Bishop's Waltham which skirts round this location to the north / east. An otherwise trigless but enjoyable three day walk ending at the Historic Dockyard and Spinnaker Tower in Portsmorth

As a passenger on drive by I could clearly see the trig was not there. It is nice see someone has previously posted a photo of the trig before it went.

Observed the cutting wall and noted the time as I drove west on the M3 for a week's holiday at Burley in the New Forest. First of 18 logs for the week.

Definatley missing, obviously removed in excavating the "Tywford Gap" on the M3 motorway. Shown on O.S. Landranger Sheet 185, 1;50,00 First Series 1979
