A joint visit with Carole. We parked in a lay-by on the main road just to the east but subsequently realised that we could have driven into the farm track. After not finding anyone to give us permission we needed to crawl through a barrier fence, then open a difficult gate, cross an extremely muddy piece of land before going over/under a barbed wire fence. Having achieved this we found the pillar to be in good condition and still retaining a raised lettered plug. The pictures show the lie of the land today.

No-one present in the farmyard so could not get access permission. It is possible to access the field this trig is in from a gateway some 200yds to the North, up a paved track. However today the field was bovine-occupied, and they took quite an interest in me. I contented myself with taking a photo from the safety of the farmyard.

The trig, from the nearby farmyard

In field far side of farmyard to road. Farmer present and permission given to visit. Care needed through mud and muck when you're in cycle shoes.

lots of noise that sounded like a chainsaw so didn't get close enough to have a look given the lack of a FP in the area to be "lost from"

I had a good look around the roadside bushes and the farmyard but failed to find it. There are plenty of piles of rubbish that could be hiding the trig.
