My first (recorded) Scottish pillar. Ascended Brimmond Hill from neat Wynford Farm whilst on way towards Inverurie from Blairgowrie. Trig in good nick, missing cap though. Lovely views over Aberdeen and West towards the hills.

Walked up from the small car park on the west side of the hill and up concealed path. Slightly muddy in places but nothing to complain about. Nice view over Aberdeen and the North Sea and a good view of the flight path into Aberdeen airport.

Came up from the carpark on the Wynford Farm road. An enjoyable quick-paced jaunt to the top (unaccountably, I was feeling quite fit today) over good footpaths, some of them green. Pillar has open cap; one s/h open. Nice coincidence: I was playing some Iron Maiden on the way here and didn't expect to find references to them on this website.

Parked to west in a small car park. Followed up path to top of hill. Pillar in good condition. Weather wasn’t great but still good views over Aberdeen and the countryside.

Wandered up from free car park to NNE on metalled track. Pillar some chipping to top edges; no centre cap and no plug; front sight hole sealed, other 3 open. Cloud down today, no views.

Log #529. Tarmac road from car park to north. Fighting against the hangover from last night's Iron Maiden concert. Topo was very handy and helped me pick out some semi-familiar peaks, including a clear view of Ben Rinnes 30 miles away. Pillar is in good condition, hill slightly spoilt be sheer number of masts but expansive views in most directions. [ExP-362/MiP-38/Rev-6/BM-42/IS-53/Other-28]

In the area for the Iron Maiden concert and decided to bag a local trig. Took the road signed Wynford Farm off the A944 and parked in the car park by the pylon. Nice walk up to the summit through the heather on fairly decent paths. Great views over Aberdeen and the surrounding countryside from the trig if you ignore the conglomeration of masts on the summit. SPOOKY COINCIDENCE...just realised this is TP666...very apt considering we were seeing Iron Maiden that evening!!!

Once I'd found my way to the car park and circumnavigated all the roadworks, the trig was a easy bag up a tarmac path all the way to the top. Good views on a lovely sunny and crisp Winter morning.

On the slightly lower of two summits, there being a wonderful old toposcope over on the highest point. The trig is on the best top for views over Aberdeen. Ascent from the west via a dogmuck splattered path, quite disgusting.

Bus from Woodhill hospital up to Kingswells and then up the hill before 9am. Lovely sunny day with fine views in all directions. Back down by 10 and home in Edinburgh for lunchtime.

Unremarkable hill, at least when approached from car park to the west, but lots of artefacts on the summit. Transmitter tower, memorial, trig pillar, picnic tables and huge summit cairn for county top of Aberdeenshire with flag of St Andrews on flying above it. Overflown constantly by helicopters taking off from Dyce.

Super location for all round views but these are spoilt by the mass of telecoms masts. A metal map, covered by a black metal lid, is a war memorial from June 1917 on a small hill about 50 metres to the NE which is well worth a look.

Short walk up the hill to this trig. Reasonable views towards Aberdeen and the airport at Dyce. Re Clochandighter's comments, that's true, plus (AFAIK) this hill is public land anyway.

NB: According to the National GPS Passive Station Database, permission is required to visit this station. However, under Scottish Law, the act of trespass is not a criminal offence. In Scotland, permission is NOT required to visit this site, or any open land site where public safety or national security is not being compromised. HISTORY Pillar built in 1936, no cost on record. Computed as primary triangulation station PP316 within Figure 3 of the OSGB retriangulation network during 1937. This station was also used for the reconnaissance of secondary blocks NO89 (Aberdeen) in 1950, and NK03 (Peterhead) during 1953. Levelled for height to first class precision, tertiary standards in 1968. The final pre-GPS maintenance by the OS was in July 1981. This marker continues to be maintained by the OS as a GPS passive station.
