Parked on Red Lane. Climbed through a gap in the hedge and then walked through two fields up to the pillar, which can be found amongst several electricity pylons, which were all crackling away. There was a gas powered scatterbird device in the trig field which went off several times, making a very loud bang!

Parked in Red Lane. There are two locations some 100m up the lane. One you can reverse into and the second a few 10s of metres further on a muddy pull over. Squeeze through a gap, in the hedge in the corner of the field, adjacent and walk up the field from the corner to a dateless gap. The pillar is visible on the skyline directly under the elect transmission lines. Field was muddy and not planted up or the crop hadn't germinated. Good views all around. retraced steps and away to Ironbridge to buy Christmas pork pies from the World famous Uleys Pork Pie Shop.

I walked up from the River Severn at Coalport along a thin yellow road that was a bit busier than I would have liked. I turned left onto the track to Swinbatch, and then accessed the trig pillar via a gap in the hedge and the field boundary. It was hard to concentrate on the view with the sound of pylons fizzling overhead. I returned back the same way and narrowly missed being caught out by somebody driving up the track.
