To east of village at bend in road, main road turns north with a narrow lane straight on towards the east. Gate into field next to a bench on the corner. Pillar tucked up inside hedge to north of gate. Bit prickly especially to get picture of spider. FB faces east. Fairly straightforward to access. Gate overlooked by houses nearby. Don’t recall any particular damage. Removed some ivy from pillar.

Sat on the bench by this one eating our chip supper from Upton Chippy, one of only two remaining original coal fired fryers in the UK.

Was expecting this to be on the roadside of the hedge, but it is actually just inside the field. Looks like this one has recently taken a bash from a hedge flail. Third trig bagged on way back from Tattershall Castle. Itchy.

Parked at side of road and entered field through wooden gate, Trig is in the edge on the left about 4m down, Trig in great condition with all its metal work still in place but is getting lost in the edge. I have cleared it up but this will grow back

Nor very elevated position at the top of a field of brassicas and therefore not much of a view though has a convenient bench to rest on and a trig first for me - a Free Manure offer. Hedge has been flailed back and the trig has some damage to one edge and is ivied.

(237) The hedge is very overgrown, and is pretty much swallowing the Pillar. Best viewed from inside the field, and not the roadside. Couldn't really see the top too well, which is the location of the damage. Pillar history: Built on the 27th of October 1948, at a cost of £8 6s 6d. Last maintained by the OS in October of 1980.

Parked in small lay bye on bend.Large gap in hedge/field entrance,go left into field trig about 5m along hedge line.Horse shoe still there.

Joint visit with Carole. Easy to find in day light not quite as easy in the darkness! Just inside a field with open gateway at road junction. Hard to spot the 'slightly damaged' condition but it was dark. Retains an original plug.

In hedgerow,visible from field side, other triggers have kept entrance in hedge open but otherwise very overgrown. Heavy growth of moss and ivy. All metalwork intact.

Another one in a Hawthorn hedge, had to clear the branches away to get the photograph. Lots of ivy growing up it but in not too bad condition with original plug. A pity we didnt bump into Rachel whilst there :)

Parked at the field entrance and walked up the side of the field. Covered in Ivy and lots of hawthorn we had to do a bit of gardening to take the photos (see trigbaggers photos)

On the edge of a field by a road junction on the edge of Upton village. All intact - plug has deeply indented letters. Some cracking/chipping to top surface. E sighthole open, the others not visible. No paint. I agree - not a very inspiring spot - but better that the last one!
