Thought this would be tricky. It wasn't at all. From bend in single track road, climb steps in hillside and follow path to the top. Turn round and follow the upper path at the waymarker; pillar is in a paddock behind two gates. Paddock was uninfested by horses at time of visit. Pillar in good condition, and has decent view (mostly of occupied paddocks). Multi-level route to pillar also very scenic.

Short walk from minor road almost at top of hill, path goes off to the left then nearer the top turn right and head for summit. Pillar is just on the other side of a fence. Good views to south. Unfortunately soiled by horse manure, either horse had a good aim or it was deliberately put there.

Pillar in good condition. Located in a paddock and adjacent to a small covered reservoir. Parked to the northwest at the bend in the road and then followed the footpath up to the pillar.

This was easier then I expected. Parked on sharp bend and walked up new steps to find a footpath heading gently up hill below a property. When the path exits the wood turn right to a gate and you will see the trig point near the reservoir.

Parked on corner at start of footpath leading up steps. Turned left at next footpath sign up into field. Most of the horses in the adjoining field .trig found by reservoir, a couple of horses were showing an interest,

Nice coming down the hill from last Trig (Woolbeding). Well, until I had to go through a houses yard to follow FP to Trig. There I was met by two Labradors who were the most barky I have ever know. The two Labs I have at work hardly bark at all. It does make it feel like you are trespassing, but that is where the FP takes you!. At least the Labs had waggy tails. Trig has good views once I got there. And then had to suffer the dogs again when leaving.

Walked up from the Duke Of Cumberland pub and then a quick, muddy climb up through the trees to find this pillar nestling just within a field which contained many horses. Much nuzzling and equine banter with some of the younger inquisitive characters. Pillar fine, cap in place with deep lettering.

My final West Sussex pillar. 70 extant, 4 destroyed, all visited. Easy bag, parking on bend on minor road just off A286 at Henley. RoW running N of Verdleyhill house, then double back above house and through paddock. Pillar retains original cap, deeply indented lettering; rear sight hole open, others not determined due to pillar being partially buried. Cleared accumulated soil and turf to free up FB. Good views S to South Downs, otherwise farmland.
