Centre cap replaced by what could be either a mortar or an asphalt plug - it's been painted so a bit tricky to say which; RHS sight hole open. A short sharp pull and we were up - and what a trig this is. Glorious views over Skipton, lower Wharfedale and beyond. Wonderful place. The pillar itself has a large crack in the top third that looks like freeze/thaw damage, which could potentially cause some real problems. Otherwise in fine nick. Steep but enjoyable walk up from the outskirts of Skipton. Was expecting a difficult final ascent as there is no path marked on the OS maps to the trig point, but in actual fact it is pretty well-trodden. Extremely cloudy day, so the view was limited. Interesting twin cairns 50 metres from the trig point. A really enjoyable, unheralded trigpoint walk - I'm surprised this one isn't more well-known!

Easily accessible and visible. I came up on the path from Jenny Gill expecting a bit of heather bashing once I needed to leave the right of way to head east. However there was a lovely well walked path which took me directly up to the crags and pillar on Skipton Moor. A wonderful location with outstanding views over the surrounding countryside. Today all the various land marks including the town of Skipton could be seen. Pillar in good condition with concrete plug. Only one hole open.
