I had never realised that this nearby to home Trigpoint was so close to a road. This might be the first time I've been down this lane though. Located just over the wall, which I didn't climb.

This was a simple affair, parking at Chapel Plaister and walking back down a country lane for a quarter of mile to find the trig within a field next to a drystone wall. Concrete cap with 3 s/hs open. Horrible wet & windy day, but luckily the rain eased off during my short stroll.

Parked by the church and then a short walk down the lane. It's in the field behind the wall but could just about reach it from the roadside.

Easy bag. hopped over the (rather loose) dry-stone wall. TP was covered in ivy that i removed. Ok farmland views. This is the last flat one for today.

I got out of the car and I couldn't spot the pillar. So I went back to the car to grab my GPS. It was at this point I spotted the pillar on the opposite side of the road to where I was looking.

Situated on a field edge which is somewhat higher than adjacent lane, access to field being easier a little to the south. Pillar in generally good condition but has an horizontal crack halfway up. plug missing, asphalt filled. Painted white.

The pillar is painted white and is sited next to a stone wall on the edge of a field of sunflowers. Limited view but the Salisbury Plain scarp is visible on the southern horizon, low wooded hills to the west and the stone buildings of the nearby hamlet of Chapel Plaister to the north. The hedge on the opposite side of the lane masks the view east to the downs above Devizes.
