Reckon this is the lowest I've recorded - note - make sure to use the correct level crossing unless a fan of goose poo (and beware of the trig). Glorious spot though with a passing bomber visit (air show I reckon). Tea and cake at the Wild Cat Fort William as reward. Finish this rest day with a visit to Sgurr An Utha - taking a pathless route (fantastic).

When looking at OS Landranger map 41, one wonders why the OS erected a pillar beside a sea loch at an altitude of just 4m when there are mountainous hills nearby in all directions. A visit to S9707 clearly illustrates why the OS chose this site for a second order triangulation pillar, and again selected the station for continued use in today's satelite era. The views from this point are stunning, and its near neighbours include Ben Nevis. Access to this point is via a level crossing north of the trig. The pillar is in very good condition, GPS plate fitted. Spider has bitumous plug. LHS sighting hole open, others plugged. FB faces NNE. Secondary station in Block NG80, Fort William.
