Made a short detour off the A66 on our way to drop the car off for its MOT. Drove up to the Charlie High gate, encountering several warning signs on the way so jumped out of the car and tentatively nipped up to the tower. Didn't really have the nerve to poke around too long so just grabbed a photo of the general area and made a hasty retreat to the car.

Historical interest, I discovered this old photo of Charlie High Range Tower before the newer building was erected, it shows I think a glimpse of the Trig Column through the scaffolding, any comments welcome.

GPS led unerringly to a painted smiley faced man in middle of concrete parking/assembly area (see photo.) Took some photos and walked out again. Given 7 for brass neckedness!
