Walked up from the footpath to the southwest, with just one locked gate to climb over. Bright, warm conditions with a delightful rolling hill landscape; a pleasure to be out.

Nice walk from Bishops Frome church, over the river & through fields. However, the path going up the hill was muddy & neglected with much tree ducking.A final short but steep climb to the top. Nice pillar with fine views of Herefordshire, though the cloud was against me!

On the way to Hereford for the annual pilgrimage to watch Lincoln. This year a bad decision after 8 minutes cost us a player and the game. When I got here it was tipping down with rain so had a very wet walk up the field and the views were nil. The plug is original with deeply-indented letters. The concrete base is exposed allround - probably a sheep gathering spot. Traces of fading paint. W/E sightholes open, others closed. Thank heaven the rain stopped before the game started!

Parked on the corner at the entrance to the field. Pleasant walk through a sheepy field to the trig. Good views. Plug with heavily indented lettering.
