Parked at nature reserve in links way. Took the path straight up the hill to find trig on large plinth in corn field. A lovely path had been made to it and a bar fence to step over. Came back down via the golf course. A great walk with good views.

Used small car park to west of common. Headed east towards hill on foot. Fairly level ground to begin with. Golf course to north. Then climb, steep and worn path. Footpath heading north at the top, through gate. Pillar in view. A bit muddy in places. There is a gap in the barbed wire fence with a worn path up to the pillar which sits on an exposed base or plinth. Considerate of the farmer to make access a bit easier. Good views all around.

Parking in Links Way is a bit of a faff, not helped by two dustcarts blocking the road at time of visit, plus gawping onlookers, and gangs of youths hanging around outside the school making sarky comments at passers by. Path up to the top of the hill was strewn with dog mess, too. My first experience of Luton was not a positive one. Fortunately, it was redeemed somewhat by a breathtaking view from the top of the hill (to match the breathtaking climb to get there), and the very considerately positioned wooden section of fence in front of the trig, which is surely a deliberate encouragement to stray into the field in which it sits...

A long and tricky walk from Leagrave station to escape the urbanisation. Once into open country it was a superb walk with the pillar itself located nicely in a field. as others have pointed out there is a wooden fence nearby to avoid the barbed wire.

A roughly cast pillar sits on a decaying 2-stage breeze-block plinth. Top edges badly chipped; cap missing, residue of an asphalt plug evident; all sight holes open. Generally looking a little sorry for itself. Panoramic views make up for it though.

Dropped lad off at Luton Airport and decided to bag a couple of trigs on the way home. Parked on Warden Hill Road and took footpaths up the the hill next to the golf course and turned north on the ridge. Trig is easy to find and accessible over what seems a purpose made access point in the barbed wire fence in to the field where the trig is. Views q.good (for Luton) from the top. The hill is quite dramatic in itself, rising well above the surrounding area. On to Marsh Farm trig.
