Thanks to the others who's descriptions allowed me to spot the pillar even though someone had hidden it!

It's there honest it is From earlier views and the tree positions I could just spot the top, from tiptoe, despite someones attempt to hide it.

Parked on Castle Road East. The pillar can be found within the reservoir compound on the eastern side of the road. The compound is inaccessible and there was a CCTV camera on the gate. Nevertheless, the pillar can be seen from the road, and it Is next to the water tower

Sure I could have got at if I really wanted to, but early on in the day with more important targets awaiting it was definitely time for exercising a little bit of restraint.

Roadside gate for the neighbouring water tower is relatively easy, from there access can be gained into the covered resr compound without attracting too much attention from passing pedestrians and motorists. Pillar sits atop the resr, set into its concrete base to the base of the FB so that none of the sight holes are visible. Original centre cap retained, indented lettering. Suburban views.

As others, the closest I chose to get was the fence to the south. Even though there was little traffic and hardly any pedestrians about, I didn't fancy abandoning the bike on the path for the sake of a commando-style raid over the fence and up the hill.

Stopped while on way to speaking engagement in Bearwood. Spotted from footpath as I was a bit too dressed up to climb fence!

After dropping someone off at the QE I had 6 hours to kill until they needed picking up so decided to bag some Trigs. Even if it is a bit early in the year. Left car at Grove Park and cycled to this trig. It wasnt a bad trip and the traffic was quite light but it was quite cold and windy. It is on top of a Resr with a solid fence around it. I didnt fancy trying to climb it as there are too many people around so just took a picture from the road.

Looked easy enough to climb over wall near entrance but too many folk about. Couldn't find any other easy ways in so settled for photos from across the road.

Not even visible in the dark, contemplated putting my trainers on and seeing of I could carefully climb the wall but didn't. Wish I'd permanently kept my concertina ladder in the back of my car. I'd've been in there, as it was a quiet Sunday evening!!. Sad

definitely there and as others have said previously there is a residence at the main gate. all locked up today. as an employee of stw i really didnt think it would be smart to get busted. so left it as seen. might be worth sitting across the road a while to see if the fella who lives there pops out for a paper in the morning. access would be relatively easy over 7ft wall.. its just you wouldnt want to get caught being a naughty trigger...

Couldn't really get any closer to this one other than from the pavement. A chap pulled up who lives at the house behind the gates, but unfortunately hadn't got a key to the second set of gates, so I took a photo from the road.

arrived opposite main entrance just as car was reversing out from the house ... had a word with the guy who said he didn't have the key to the second gate ... didn't want to jump the wall so took a few pictures from the road - in hindsight, i'm not sure the guy from the house is the 'apparent keeper' of the res as suggested in the last post by Ted - house is a bit too plush for a 'res keeper' me thinks ... All quiet (or so I thought) and the wall just to the left of the main entrance was easier than expected. Trig in good condition with plug intact. The pillar sits in, rather than on, a large plinth; the upper surface of the plinth is nearly level with the lower edge of the bracket. Climbing back out over the wall I got a telling-off from the occupier of the adjacent house - apparently the reservoir keeper. Future visitors might want to call there and ask permission.

Walked the fence perimeter with my torch, but could not see anyway to reach it. Saw Trigpoint shape on hill when I was about 150 feet away. Visited after night caching at "1 in a million" (had a 1 in million chance of finding it in the dark too!)nearby. Must be nuts to be out at this time of night. (2am)

The railings here are too narrow even for Father Ted to squeeze through (see Barr Beacon Reservoir). I did the next best thing and climbed over the seven foot high rough stone wall which forms the entrance to the reservoir near the one-time water board house. Plug with indented lettering.
