Parked with the permissio of the parmer at the end of the track to the east. Straightforward walk to the pillar and no cattle. Good views of the East Neuk and south over the Forth.

Lovely day on the Fife coast visiting Pittenweem, Kellie Castle, and of course Kellie Law where just below the summit, out of the chill breeze, we enjoyed a picturesque picnic. Pillar in good shape, cap in place with shallow lettering, and all sight-holes open. But no cairn here now: appears to have been dismantled.

It's an easy walk, through the cattle fields. via the track from Carnbee to this trig and the adjacent cairn (heavily damaged by the same cattle) on the very top of the hill.

Ended up parking just before just at Carnbee. It might have been in someone's garden, couldn't really tell. Quite a few slightly ambiguous welcoming signs on the way along the track. Nice little hill.

Pillar in good condition and intact. Very fine views and footprints suggest that the hill is often visited. Sadly this meant taking litter off the hill. There has been a lot of electric fences installed recently, but an approach via the obvious track from Carnbee is easy and uncomplicated.

Lovely spot but don't approach from the west as its a muddy slog. Views over the Forth make it all worthwhile.

Visited purely to record FB number. Long before I saw any records etc, my site visit was the first I knew of this being a primary - something I always assumed from such low FB numbers that stand out from all the neighbouring pillars. I was later able to establish the not only is this a Primary Station from the Retriangulation of Great Britain (1935-1962), but that Kellie Law was also part of the Principal Triangulation for the Ordnance Trigonometrical Survey of Great Britain and Ireland, of 1783 or thereabouts. Today, this pillar has been given a further lease of life as it is now part of the Global Positioning System Passive Station Network. The present pillar would have been built in 1936.
