Parked in lane just up from Tesco. Walked the field edge to trig, that could be seen from road. Took photo , didnít hang about, we noticed a bull further down the field!

Walked through the town from Galabank; the field is just a few hundred yards from Tesco's carpark. Pillar has cap in place with deep lettering, and one sight-hole open. Then return to Galabank to see Annan Athletic 1-2 Stranraer. Another artificial pitch; they're spreading.

Close to the town Tesco at the edge of a wet field no lambs or irate mothers to negotiate. Unremarkable location.

Vgc pillar on a very wet field margin. FB faces north-ish, south-ish sighthole open only. Cap present with sunken lettering. Open views south but nothing inspiring. Views north to Annan (and mostly Tesco).

Cap intact and in good nick with only South sight open. On the North side of barbed and hawthorny field edge.. deceptively soggy ground thro the field where a rather large erection is being built due North.

HISTORY: Pillar completed 5th August 1951 costing £10.17s.4d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NY45/T70 during 1953. Levelld for height to Class 1 precision, tertiary standards in 1974. Last maintained by the OS in June 1977. SITE VISIT: Not far from road so parked across field gates opposite with car in sight through hedge. Pillar in good condition, edge of grazing field, NNW side of mapped fence. Spider centre retains OS centre cap with deep indented letters. Flush bracket faces NNW across field, compass measurement 345į. Vented through southerly sight hole. Field water looged and muddy. Views across Solway to Cumbria and Lake District.
