Parked at little red gill and walked up William gill then from the end of the grouse butts a direct line to the trigg. Take just over 1hr. The mist was down so no views to be had , had a drink in the nearby wind shelter due to the brisk breeze. Had planned to walk to rogans seat but give it a miss due to the weather conditions and headed back the same way as I walked up.

One of our mad little bagging sessions, to be fair it's such a murky day even in the dales it's worth immersion in the troubling atmosphere of a walk guided by a fence. From Keld via the handsome new track past the lead mines, to the usual moorland hill summit afterwards. Only to find most of Swaledale immersed in low cloud on our return with heavy rain a few miles away - lucky escape!
