As others, parked by telephone box at Millden. Good estate dirt road nearly all the way up. Pillar looks to be in a bad way. Despite previous repairs round the base area, there is severe erosion going on here. Centre cap missing, replaced with a composite disc. LHS sight hole open. Cloud down, no views. Caught up in heather burning on way down, serious smoke for a mile!

Pedaled and pushed bike to high on Wester Cairn, then simple walk to summit. Historic county top of Kincardine. Busy spot, with people avoiding the wedding presumably. Descent an absolute whizz.

Walked up from Millden. I was rather confused by the increase in trackways ( I have an old map) and arrived at the summit by way of Hill Of Saughs, which wasn't my planned route, but that's alright. Lovely, wide views; I've never been so high before in Kincardineshire! Pillar has a plastic cap & one sight-hole open.

I first attempted this hill with my cousin,Ally in March 2005 but due to snow and Ally suffering from a sore hip we abandoned on our walk before the summit. She was due to leave the following month to cycle to Prague and didn't want to push things. She had done the hill before and said, "It will be here for another day". Unfortunately she wasn't as she was killed in a cycling accident on that trip. I have no details of the TP but the hill remains very important to me for my memories of my last walk with my cousin
