Parking for a few cars at SJ 8261 0069. Made a small round of Wrottesley Hill (tump) then dropped south for the trig. Pillar sits just into a sheep pasture, with very friendly sheep. An original centre cap is retained, lightly indented lettering; there is some minor damage to the top screed. Front and LHD side sight hole plugs are badly degraded, rear hole open, RHD side hole sealed. And finally picked up a cut benchmark on Monument Lodge on return to the car.

I thought I would go out Trig hunting before the wind got too much. Drove to Pattingham and dumped the car there and got on my bike. Easy road side one. Simple hop over low fence to get to trig. It is guarded by friendly sheep who just stared at me.

Parked in Nurton Hill Road some way down from the trig point. Climbed over double wooden gate and into field with no problem. You can park directly opposite the trig on a wide grass verge.

Decided this was probably a garden, so I didn't scale the fence. Typical, the flush bracket was facing the wrong way. Took a reading holding the GPSr through the fence.

In a paddock/field adjoining one of several very nice houses! Out of sight if you are quick.

Not sure if going to this area at night the best idea,plenty of security probably goes with some of the surrounding pads!

A very white pillar, in a small paddock just off a lane in the monied area west of Wolverhampton. Original OS plug with slightly indented lettering. All sight holes closed. The hollows underneath the hooks have been virtually completely filled in. Incidentally, the huge 1930's mansion next door is called 'TrigStone House'!!

Just a hop over a gate, but this is a wealth ghetto, so you may raise suspicion. As always the plate is not visible from the road. Pillar was intact, nowt missing
