Parked just by the pillar on the Glenlomond road, immediately off the B919 before Balgeddie Toll if coming from Kinnesswood. Hard to believe the hundreds of times I've driven past this and never known it was here.

I wondered why the tall grass round the pillar was all nicely flattened. Many thanks to the jackrustles. I was wearing sandals and it saved my toes being stung by the nettles. Nice trig with a nice view.

Neither if us could understand why we didn’t do this when we did Benarty with Rob as his final pillar. All became clear when we arrived as Mr McGarry had already found it but he only remembers the locations never the names!

Logged on a long round trip over West Lomond and Bishop Hill then down to Kinnesswood. Had to clear thistles away to find the flush bracket only to reveal two snails.

Log #309. Nice easy roadside trig to end the day. Head up the minor road, and there is enough space to park for a few minutes to log the pillar. Good condition, with clear views of Benarty, White Craigs, Bishop Hill, and West Lomond. [ExP-225/MiP-23/Rev-2/BM-18/IS-31/Other-10]

Not a very awe inspiring trig this, I was passing by and seen it on the map, so I decided to stop and bag it. Considering it sits right next to houses and the road, I am surprised that it is in excellent condition.

Some changes around here since my visit of 19/08/87. Trig no longer in field. Trig now on top of grass verge by road side. PILLAR NOT MOVED, everything else has. Grass verge cut back to accommodate new pavement & bus stop. Front edge of field moved back to behind trig. Old front wall now gone. Trig pillar built in November 1943. Tertiary station in Block NT18, Dunfermline. Pillar VGC and recently painted. Spider retains original OS centre plug with engraved shallow lettering. BSM Flush bracket faces SSW across main road. LHS sighting hole open others plugged. Views to Bishop Hill, Benarty Hill, Dumglow, Ben Cleugh and over Loch Leven. Revisited and photographed 13/05/2004, GRP.

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was built in November 1943 costing £4.10s.3d. In 1947 this marker was computed for triangulation as tertiary station NT18/T48 in the Dunfermline secondary block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1966. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in September 1987. Nearly missed this one. My 1983 LR58 still has the wee trig symbols and this one is camouflaged by the road junction. Northeast of Loch Leven. Wall then barbed wire to climb in those days. The road was later to be widened and it the pillar was to be demolished, May 1996. Thankfully this trig survived.
