Accessed during a circular walk in the vicinity of Ulston, via the gate adjacent to The Hoolie...a most appropriately named house for today's weather conditions, the howling gale having propelled us up Ulston Hill!

Parked at nt672220 on wasteland next to Easter Ulston Farmhouse. Walked downhill and took the road signposted The Hoolies. A small gate leads into a field, today I think beetroot. Short walk all of 200m leads to this trig point. Located NW side of wall this pillar commands a great view to Mid Eildon Hills. Protected within a wire fence and located adjacent to a water reservoir, this pillar should last for many years.

As others, parked in new housing development, on wast-land by The Hoolie. Through the small gate, along the wall, and there it is. Man at the Hoolie asked what on earth we were doing. Sometimes we wonder that too.

Jogged from Overwells pillar. Go up marked road just before Ulston, it's all nice houses now. Gate in fence just before last house on right. Trig on far side of wall in a fenced off area next to a strange box/drum type thing.

Fenced off wild trig.
Surprisingly easy to miss.
