Parked at entrance to ‘Dawes’ house. Took the footpath, after second gate turn right and follow the hedge line. Trig on plinth in hedge with a platform built around it , a memorial plaque set on the side.

I accessed from the north and the FP by Dawes farm. Pillar set in a field boundary, painted white and 'adopted' by the family of and dedicated to Capt Holman who worked with OS.

White pillar, easy to find on top of a thorny hedge 100m from SW Coast Path. Stunning views from the field westward along Jurassic Coast (Weston, Sidmouth and beyond). Lovely quiet spot. Rob H

Brisk walk from public car park at top of valley at Lower Weston Farm down to coast, weather improving rapidly. Short stretch of coast path-very mucky, then pillar highly visible in hedge line across field. Stile to field at W end. Build on plinth with FB on S side, just touchable without clambering. Wooden platform well over grown. Plaque intact. Excellent views from field edge of coastline to W. Then dash back to family for visit to Topsham.

Managed to park in small lay bye at 166 spot and walked down track to Dawes turning right along the last hedge line towards the trig point. The steps onto the platform are on the northside of the hedge but a gate 10m away gives easy access to that side. Great view along the coast.

As per Jon Glew - Roadside parking at 166m spot height to N. Good path down to the SW CP, veered off W at Dawes, following field bdy to trig. Pillar sits on a high plinth in the hedgerow but has had a platform built round it at base level, with ladder stile on N side to give easy access. Memorial plaque attached for Capt Holman, an ex-OS employee from 1926-48. His family are adoptees and are obviously proud of their ancestor - the pillar also has a reasonably fresh coat of white paint. There are some bramble of the trig platform and beware the barbed wire under the wee ladder as I caught my new blouse on it!

I climbed the wire and crossed the field but as we continued (from Beer towards Sidmouth) there was actually a stile in the corner of the field. This trig shone brightly on the sunny day, a beautiful sight.

Collected on a walk from Seaton to Sidmouth. The field adjacent to the SWCP is fenced off and topped with barbed wire. I climbed over to access the field with pillar. If approaching from the West, there is a (newish) stile giving access to the pillar. An interesting location and plaque.

Found this trigpoint whilst taking in a multi cache in the area, this was actually one of the waypoints for that geocache. Hopped over the gate then up the fence to the platform on which the trigpoint sits, excellent views from here.

Left Mrs C and Junior C's at Donkey Sanctuary Summer Fair for brisk walk down through lovely Weston Combe to beach at Weston Mouth, and then up steep coast path to top of Weston Cliff. White painted TP on overgrown wooden plinth at N edge of first field - complete with herd of bullocks, so skirted round them and didn't linger. Limited views from TP itself but beautiful stretch of coast, and a hot sunny afternoon.

Did this whilst Hashing with Otter Valley H3. Done as a detour on the the final long short split after the Regroup and sweety stop. 3 dots and on and very little shiggy. I ll let you try and fathom that lot out. This is is what a trig point should be. Previous visitors have said it all.

Parked in the car park at Weston village and followed the path from there to the cliff tops. Great views from the cliff. The trig is easily seen on a hedge one field back from the cliff top.

Bagged trig whilst on holiday in Exmouth with my dear wife. Interesting trig but had to climb through nettles to reach timber board walk.Wife took photo.No cows as field was hay. Lovely views from coastal footpath.

Magnificently maintained and whitewashed trig. If approaching from the N turn right just after the house and follow the hedge for 400m. I missed the plaque but enjoyed the views to the W, although the sinking sun didn't help. Widget was up for a fight with the bunch of brown bullocks surrounding the trig, but I kept her on a short lead! nearest nice-looking pub is 'The Fountain Head' in Street to the E.

We walked down the tarmac track to Daw's Weston. The field with the trig in is access land so there is no problem getting to it. The trig has been adopted by the Holman family and bears a plaque which reads - "ADOPTED BY THE FAMILY / IN MEMORY OF / CAPT R D W HOLMAN (RE 1926 - 1948) / WHO ENJOYED 22 YRS WORKING FOR / THE ORDNANCE SURVEY TAKING / THE FAMILY ON PILGRIMAGES TO / WHAT IS AFFECTIONATELY KNOWN AS / GRANDPA'S PILLARS". The trig is painted white with a timber board walk around the plinth. The views would probably have been good but the mist was down. Plug with indented lettering.
