It took 3 attempts to get up here! First time the weather was too bad, second I tried to come up the direct track marked on the OS map which turns out to cease to exist half way up. This time took the route around the valley and through 4 fords then up the well surfaced Landrover track to the top. Still a little snow and fantastic views down to the coast to the north.

Took counter clockwise route from Fasney Cottage, you can actually walk a long time without seeing a wind turbine - or a tree! You could quite conceivably drive all the way to the TP in a 4x4...For such a remote TP I didn't expect to see anyone else (except perhaps gamekeepers) but 100m from the summit I met a couple coming down on the clockwise circuit. They weren't Trig-bagging, but bagging County Tops, so were delighted that they'd scored a double hit (this is on the border of East Lothian and Berwickshire) with this one!

Couple of county tops bagged, also a Marilyn top - Eildon and Rubers Law peep beyond the disfiguring turbines, track wandering troublingly near the trig. However a glorious exotic view of the Forth, Bass and North Berwick Law also to be enjoyed, strange then that it feels like the edges of Lancashire. A fine wild drive from the Borders via Longfordmarcus and another hill to now wave at with fondness when wandering the Cheviots.

Roadside verge parking on minor road to NE, by track leading to Faseny Cottage - could have driven down and parked there. Tracks shown on map are a bit hit and miss, fair bit of heather bashing required where it peters out (or we just lost it). Pillar retains original top cap, lightly indented lettering; rear sight hole open; sports a dirty coat of white paint. Cloud down, no views.

Made a clockwise circuit of the loop from Faseny Cottage. Decent track most of the way except the last stretch from the grouse hides below the summit on the way out. The pillar has been repaired on the south west corner at some point. Perfect July evening with great 360 views despite the turbines.
