Circular walk from Ewartly Shank taking in Shill Moor-Bush Knowe-Cushat Law-Wether Cairn and Hogdon Law. Easy going to Cushat Law then a bit of a slog especially the last leg to Hogdon Law. Appears to have received a new coat of white paint since the last photographed visit.

Parked on the road to Ewartly Shank where the track up to Hogdon Law crosses. Was intending to follow the track up to the saddle between Hogdon Law and Wether Cairn but there was a group of cows with their calves blocking the path halfway up, so I detoured to follow Blackbutt Sike. This was a real slog, even today when the bogs were bone dry. It would be awful in wet conditions. OK view from the trig.

Have re-scored this hill now we know what can be seen! **05/03/16 A fairly grim day of weather, we added Wether Cairn as a short diversion onto a 6 hour hike that took in Cushat Law and Bloody Bush Edge and back along Salters Road through the top end of the Breamish Valley. All in clag (and snow, and hail, etc) so the views from the Cairn as yet unknown! A re-visit required on a clear day!

First of two wet and windy trigs in the day but soooo good to be out with blue sky. Parked on the minor road which terminates at Ewarty Shank, about 600m from the end at a cattle grid. Followed the fence lines to stay on access land and then basically up beside Blackbutt Sike. Wet yes as expected but to be honest it was semi-frozen in places and we've been out in worse!
