Third trig of a seven trig 'bag'' East to West from Dundraw...Parked roadside on the grass close to the hedge at GR 146 457 & post short road walk West decided on a no-messing, direct 'assault' in 'fighting' my way thro' the hedge 'in-line' with the cross hedge 'housing' the trig. Thro' the hedge & seemingly having come 'out on top' in the 'battle', not completely unscathed mind for when I took off my gloves I had sustained some superficial scratches to the hands. A short way up I located the trig engrossed in foliage, so much so that a walk around it was impossible. Second best, I was satisfied in standing on top looking down most satisfyingly tantalisimg the herd of cows that had stopped me from entering the field pre-hedge clamber. Not really 'fancying' my chances at a coupl'a extra rounds wit the 'heavyweight' hedge, in departing I 'made' a diagonal crossing of the field to the left in hope of a gate. I couldn't see one but sure enough there it was in the corner hidden somewhat by the hedge. OMG that gate was akin to reaching out for the ropes in the corner at the 'ding ding' signifying end of round...Half-wish i'd have sought out the gate before my 'hedgey' encounter, only half-wished since, having 'broken-thro' it, it was oh so satisfying...Stew B must have a sadistic streak since he actually likes the challenge of the 'Hedge Trig'!

Second bag of the day and another hedge pillar. Having read that the FB faced west I parked up by the gate to the field to the west of the TP. Went through gate and walked through the grassy field to try and locate the pillar. Needed the OS App to home in on it as it was hard to spot. Pillar is set back behind a barbed wire fence and all sorts of prickly flora had to be cut away with secateurs just to get a view of the FB. Once the way was clear I just managed to lean over the fence to touch the pillar. Photo taken, onto the next TP....

Parked at a field gate 80m or so NE along minor road from pillar. Muddy cattle pasture. Pillar sits on a raised field boundary between b/w stock fencing and is being consumed by gorse, thorn and bramble. Cut back some of it to get a FB shot - FB faces SW, I'd approached from the NE. Original top cap retained, indented lettering; rear sight hole open, RHS plug degrading. Extensive views.
