5/12 trig on the Bowland Dozen and the next trigs are well spread out after yesterday's 4 bagged in an afternoon. We slept well at Wolfhole and had hot chocolate and hobnobs for breakfast. Early start with no precise plan where next camp will be. Memories/places and next section I did recce when working at Slaidburn YH. Still had to be at the YH for 5 pm to open so was out from 9 - 5 going over CEs route. Totally new area for me then.

Parked at Cross of Greet Bridge and walked a 5mile circular heading up Bloe Greet Breast and on to Snout Berry Hill. Beautiful, sunny day afforded the most spectacular views as far as Morecambe Bay, Yorkshire three peaks and Gragareth, Pendle, Waddington Fell and Winter Hill. Walked back to the road using the fence line to Cross of Greet and then down the road. Lots of activity on the tops for peat conservation work.

2nd of 3 trigs on a 18 mile circular hike from Dunsop Bridge via Whins Brow, White Hill and Burn Fell trigs. Mixed sunshine and showers. Bit of a slog to get to the first 2 trigs. Nice view of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

Interesting sighting pillar nearby, and a lovely view of the Yorkshire 3 peaks from the top. Approached from the Hornby Road, somewhat tiring but very rewarding.

usual route from Cross of Greet- which should be renamed site of cross of greet. a super hot afternoon made for a sweaty ascent, a bit tiring after walking Fair Snape earlier on. White Hill is a super spot.

Chose the loneliest fell I could think of in easy reach to have some exercise in the current crisis.Parked 2 miles from any habitation (Cross of Greet) and didn't see a soul on the fell.Followed the fence line to the top.Conditions were squelchy underfoot with hazy views. Intrigued by the sighting tower close to the pillar- a relic of aquaduct building as I understand.Very much aware of the contrast between the timeless peace and serenity on top of the fell and the frantic, drastic actions worldwide to save lives. My own daughter is on the nursing front line- stay safe Ellen.

6.2 mile very boggy circular from Cross of Greet Bridge, walked up wet grouse butts lane to end then easy heather followed by hideous peat groughs to trig, walked down fence to top of pass which was very boggy in places then onto Hailshowers Fell (easier), bagged Woodhouse Gate trig on way up and Whins Brow trig earlier that day, there has been a lot of rain up here but today was a lovely sunny day.

The cloud hovering on the tops with a skirly wind - unexpectedly marvellous. Last walk of the year and last Marilyn in our local area we have not visited - despite some of the write ups this is a joyous linear fence walk, easier to walk on than some other moors such as Totridge, parts of Kinder. Haunting moss blackened siting pillar coming in and out of the cloud.

A bot of a boggy slog up the fence and back from the road summit at the Cross of Greet. Lovely views at the top though, especially of the 'Three Peaks' and also into the Lakes. Inspected the curious survey tower near to the trig before going back down.

Second visit. For photographs and GPS measurement. SITE VISIT: Approached from northeast. Parked in layby to east side of Lythe Fell Road just north of cattle grid at SD682608. Followed fenceline all the way to summit crossing fence back and forth as bogs permitted. Pillar in good condition. Tar plug in spider centre. Flush bracket face northeast, 39°. Vented through SE sight hole. Full 360° open view includes Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent, Pendle Hill and Longridge Fell.

A long tranquil day walking the Hornby Road from Slaidburn to Brookhouse. White Hill was straightforward enough to add into my route, plus the rain held off. Can't ask for more than that.

Third visit to this Marilyn and trig. I expected the hill to be a lot drier than it was after our dry summer but yesterday's rain left the path of sorts beside the fence very wet. Walsh Fell running shoes were great in this sort of going thought.

Parked in the small space near the cattle grid at the remains of the Cross of Greet. Went through the kissing gate which leads onto the access land covering White Hill. Followed along the fence directly to the summit & trig,wet underfoot in places which needed a bit of fence hopping & bog jumping but nothing too hard. Quite good fun,as long as you dont end up misjudging it & getting a boot full! Nice summit,with decent views & survey tower to add a bit of extra interest. 1hr 30mins car-trig-car.

North from roman road and along fencelines. Its a nice remote spot, though people would have to be mad to go up there on a wet day like today. Will revisit on a better day The nearby stone structures are quite interesting

Walked up from cattle grid at cross of greet very dry underfoot considering its trough of bowland! Followed fence to trig fine views trig in vgc fading white paint tarmac plug.there are two old survey posts from the haweswater acqaduct project in the 50s ,there are simalar ones in the far eastern lake district.

Tarmac/concrete plug; 1 sighting hole open. Dry conditions otherwise progress would have been tedious. Intriguing tower/chimney remains nearby.

Easy walk up from Slaidburn to Bentham Road. Rather featureless summit apart from remains of tower. Good views of all three Yorkshire 3 Peaks. Avoid in wet weather lots of bogs.

Main feature of this hill was the tower or possibly chimney near the summit. Dry moor made for an easy ascent and on the way up I found a photocopied OS map with the two local marilyns highlighted.

First visit. To record FB number. HISTORY: Pillar completed circa October 1948. In 1948 this marker was computed for triangulation as Secondary station SD74/17 in the Blackburn block. Flush bracket S5002 was levelled for height also in 1948. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in 1976. SITE VISIT: Pillar in good condition. Spider centre plugged with hard resin / tar. Before the paint job.
