Visited on the Bannisdale Horseshoe logging 8 Birketts. This pillar from afar looks typical stone built, but actually concrete and in good condition. I parked at Dryhowe Bridge, turn right over the bridge, thru a gate and parking for two cars immediately on your right. I think my vet can have this dedicated to her for "not missing a trick". Sixteen year old dog with dementia and she tried to flog me some drugs to help, which were not guaranteed to work. No flies on me.

Bagged as part of the Bannisdale Horsehoe. No parking opportunities, neither along the minor road, or at Dryhowe Bridge. Ended up parking at Watchgate ny528991. Beautiful weather, clear sky and plenty of daylight hours. On arriving at Dryhowe Bridge I walked uphill NE to junction of fences ny537021. From this point on the fence provides an excellent handline re navigation. Steady progress over The Forest eventually leads to White Howe trig. The spider is intact and on a clear day, like I experienced today, spectacular panoramic views. Spider intact. Glad I chose a recent dry spell in our weather to do this trig. The route across the peat haggs at Borrowdale Moss were surprisingly effortless as far as peat hagg walking goes. 20km and 6hours.
