Parked to the west same as the last visitor and walked up the edge of the field. Trig is nicely exposed now and looks to be in good condition.

Awkward access as no public row close by. Parked on the A4137 at a large layby, walked south along edge of the road past Burnthouse Green then took a farm track east then north finally along a field boundary to the trig. Even then access was difficult having to negotiate a b/w fence in middle of a thorny hedgerow. Pillar is getting very well buried in the hedgerow, facing east meant the flush bracket was accessible, but the top of the pillar is covered in thick thorn/holly growth - couldn't access that. Some reasonable views.

Impossible to find last summer but now an easy bag from the east over a new b/w fence. Fields were dry. Nice views of surrounding hills though pillar itself is pretty dull.

Looks easy on the map but struggled for ages, waist high in corn & thistles! Could not find it. Come back in winter. Prob completely overgrown. (Did find it in winter, hence the change in condtion status.)

Awkward access from lane but got there is the end - very muddy fields due to heavy rain earlier. The top is so badly covered in ivy that it was impossible to get at the plug - I think it was original with slightly-indented letters. A few traces of paint. Sightholes below soil level. In a hedgerow between an arable field and a pasture field. Moderate agricultural views.

Tried to gain from the main road to the east. Good parking by a side track to a barn then good hedge cover as far as the last hedge but then it gets tricky with the last hedge nearly impassible. Minor road sounds much better bet.
