The pillar is located in a small copse. Spider intact. No views. The fence line surrounding this trig ensures protection. A 20 minute return walk.

Whitton Hill TP is situated just above the village of Milfield. Milfield has a pub in it called the Red Lion. I've been to loads of pubs in England called the 'Red Lion', and the Red Lion Milfield is probably the worst one I've ever been to. Not only is it not dog friendly, it's not really people friendly either. Returning to Milfield to bag Whitton Hill I was struck how, like the local pub, I've visited loads of TPs but this one is one of the worst I've ever been to! Stuck in a scruffy little barbed wire protected coppice full of stinging nettles with no real views, overshadowed by the more impressive hills of Houseden Hill to the SW and Flodden Hill to the NW, I'd have scored this even lower if it wasn't for the fact we flushed out a Roe Deer as we made our way round the field edge, and it was a gloriously sunny day.

Parked near the start of the footpath. There seems to be a permissible path around the field edge eastwards parallel to the road, then I headed north around the field edge again to the trig. To reach the trig required hopping over a barbed wire fence into a little triangular overgrown area. It looks a bit different now to previous photos.
