Parked at Haweswater Mardale, up via Mardale Ill Bell (revisit), Thornthwaite Crag (revisit), out to Gray Crag (new), back around to High Street (revisit), The Knott (new), Rampsgill Head (new), High Raise (new) and Low Raise (new), finishing with Kidsty Pike (new). 27km and some good views. This was the one trig point of the walk, we had tea here.

It's always nice to get a bonus Trig when knocking off a Wainwright, especially one as good as High Street. We parked up at the RSPB car park at Mardale Head and took the path up over Rough Crag and then up Long Style to the summit. Great views over virtually all the Lakeland Fells. Followed the route down over Mardale Ill Bell and then around small Water and back to the car park. Finished off with a couple of excellent beers at The Mardale Inn, Bampton

Luck was on my side for the weather - almost clear blue skies prevailed for my days hike. 13.8 miles Total for the Kentmere Horseshoe. High Street was the highest peak at 828 feet with a total ascent for the complete hike of 4016 feet. 9 Wainwright's and 2 trigs bagged. Amazing views prevailed throughout the day with perhaps the best of these seen from the site of this trig. Having hiked the ridge of Yoke, Ill Bell & Froswick, the view was back to this range, flanked on the left by Kentmere Reservoir, and on the right by Lake Winderemere. Morecambe Bay was visible on the horizon. There is a small amount of damage to the top and base of the pillar, the foundations are partly exposed and the original centre for the spider has been replaced with a plain disc.

Lovely quiet walk up Pasture Bottom on a sunny day with great views, especially from our lunch spot at Thornthwaite Beacon. But all hell broke loose at the trig when the dogs of two other visiting parties decided to take exception to each other, somewhat ruined the experience. However diverted to Kidsty Pike (having previously been in a whiteout on our C2C route), where the views were excellent and peace was restored. Finished with a very dull walk down Hayeswater.
