Pillar in good condition, complete with all metalwork. However, after all the recent rain, the pillar is completely surrounded by deep squelchy ...err ... mud. Otherwise, a very nice location, with good views.

The best trig pillar that I have visited recently with some fairly expansive views. It was meade vene better by the snowy landscapes and the fact that the snow was trackless. The pillar is easy to reach as it is just off a footpath.

Just off a footpath outside Tissington village, on the edge of a pasture field and partly surrounded by some very mature beech trees. All intact with the original plug with slightly indented letters. North sighthole open, the rest closed. No paint visible. Lovely views North/South/East over the Peak District. A lovely spot - but watch the cowpats, especially around the pillar which is obviously a gathering ground....
