Found 21qazxsw's treasure, so in the spirit of oneupmanship, I left a 5p coin in the rear sighthole for the next visitor to find.

As per previous logger: we parked in front of the covered reservoir on the B4000, then walked SE along the road past the national speed limit sign (the 40mph sign going into Wickham, i.e. the opposite direction to where we were heading). But we couldn't find the entrance to the path that the previous logger mentioned: it was fully overgrown. So what we did was we found a small opening in the bushes in between the 40mph sign and the warning triangle for wild animals, and using our garden shears & secateurs, we made the opening bigger and went in to the woods from there. Once in the woods, we fought our way through the growth towards the covered reservoir and the mast. Once we were near the covered reservoir, we headed E until we found the path mentioned by the previous logger. This path is actually a couple of deep tractor ruts, so you can't miss it. The trig station was visible from the path, to the E of the path, pretty much in line with the mast. Trig in good condition, original metal cap with lightly indented lettering. Tips for future visitors: garden shears & secateurs are a must. Also, pulling out of the parking place was rather tricky as the traffic comes flying past as they leave Wickham. *** Revisited 7 March 2021 *** Easy access, once you know where to go! Walk down the track to the left of the covered reservoir, once you get to the end of the track (where the comms mast is), the rear fence is completely down where the pile of bricks is. Go through the fence, and then go right. Alternatively enter the 'ride' / track directly next to the warning triangle for wild animals is, there is now a clear path / gap there. I'm guessing this was where the rotten tree trunk was? No sign of it anywhere now. Trig in good condition, metal cap now missing, front & left sightholes closed, right sighthole was closed but has now opened up a bit, rear sighthole open. I left a 2p coin in the rear sighthole for the next visitor to find.

Parked beside the Thames Water compound, and walked SE along the road a short way outside the 40mph limit signs to find the way in to the track leading up to the pillar. Again I had to push nettles out of the way and mind the gorse bushes either side! The ruts of the track seem to have retained most of their winter moisture but the middle of the track remains largely dry. The pillar itself is off to the east of the track about 100m from the roadside. Again no views to speak of. Further details and photos to follow...
