Drove up on a metalled road from the south. Parked next to trig - missed the ROC post in the dark, returned for it another day. Pillar has a mortar plug to replace missing centre cap; all sight holes open. Extensive dusk views across Scapa Flow with a rig and the Flotta oil terminal lit up nicely.

Second of only three trig points I was able to get to when on a lighthouse tour of Orkney. Cycled up ( very steep so walked the last bit) from Kirkwall and also visited the chambered cairn. Pillar in good condition. Great views from the summit of Wideford and returning at dusk one night we could spot most of the LHs of Orkney plus Duncansby Head and Dunnet Head on the mainland
