Close to a minor road with parking available on grass verges a little distance away near the Wigpool nature reserve. Had to beat about in the bracken to find it!

2/3 from May Hill NT car park. Walked over via Wysis Way to Mitcheldean, then up through PROW. Trig sits roadside, alongside the fenced reservoir in pine and fern. Trig is in good condition with spider and FB intact.

Hidden in pleasant woodland near compound at top of hill which rather spoils the immediate surroundings. Jungly around trig and likely to be more so in the height of summer so could be a tricky find. View is of trees but plenty of good views to be had on the way.

Made a long journey to do one important Geocache and this Trig was only 1.5 miles away and roadside. Parked at the entrance to the compound and was convinced the trig was on the inside at first? Followed the GPS and found a slight trail which lead me straight to it. Had to step over lots of Bracken and Bramble, and this one may not be so obvious when everything is in full growth during summer time? Views are better en route to this one rather than actually at the trig which is on the edge of a Forrest. Elevation 280 meters.

Very hard at the height of the fern season, and the GPS all over the place in the wood. Scratched and nettled. It's near the sub station. Looked OK

Took the Geo-spaniel for a walk from home on a bright and sunny, clear morning. A circular route taking in this and some geocaches. The trig was quite well hidden by the undergrowth from the road but easy to photograph close up.

Parked just by the entrance to the track to the fenced enclosure. The trig was just to the left side of this. As with some of the other trigs in this area there is no view at all. It must have been amazing back when the trigs were built when other spots could be spotted. Me, Mum, Hadley 279m

At this time of year the pillar is visible from the lane so access to it was easy. Original plug with slightly-indented letters. Traces of paint visible. W sighthole open, others closed. No views at all from here.

Walked up Windman Hill from Mitcheldean, nice views.Had picnic on the Common then took about 10 mins to find trig,luckily area around it quite clear.Boring spot though

Another pillar engulfed by plantation. Fortunately easily visible and accessible from road. My 1960's 1" map has this all shown as open scrubland with no metalled roads.

I suppose this part of Dean was clear once, because there are no views now. Quite close to a fortified reservoir, but happily outside the fence. Very good condition , intact and with deep wells under the hooks.
