Gone are the days when my run would take me right from the saddle over from Hollingworth Hall down to the Swineshaw reservoirs and then a painful trudge up Cock Wood. Nowadays I bear left keeping my height on towards the Trig Point. A brilliant day. The bright hills to the east look as though they might finally give up their white tops soon, any snow underfoot is under its last legs. But its the view to the west which inspires even if a little murky today. To misquote Gonzo I feel I can see the high water mark of my youth just below me.
