About two miles south east of Wysall, approached from that direction. Just as I was slowing down to pull over and start looking for the pillar by a complete stroke of luck there it was, right beside me. About twenty five metres south of Glebe Farm entrance, both on east side of road. Covered, although not completely, by roadside vegetation. Pushed that back however FB was submerged beneath the level of the soil. No suitable tools with me so tried using a piece of wood lying nearby but that wasn’t much good. A couple of motorcyclists stopped to ask if I was ok. Thanked them and said I was. Ended up digging out as much soil as I could by hand. Used a plastic bag over my hand to limit getting all muddy. Fairly good farmland views. Another tip when approaching from north west is the electricity pylons on the west of the road which come closest to the road (about a hundred metres) very near the pillar.

With the recent rain, it would have been easy to dig the rest of it out, but no implements with me today, alas. The number is given as being S4691. The pillar is all good regardless. Pillar history: Built on the 25th of September 1948, at a cost of £9 7s 2d. Last maintained by the OS in May of 1978.
