It turns out that trying to visit during a damp early evening in late May isn't the greatest plan - wet grass in the field margins and a hefty wheat crop to work past. Ended up drenched & muddy from the knees down. Hey-ho. Spider still intact, but the paint job is looking a bit tatty now.

parked on wincote lane at the t junction after wincote farm - walked back along the lane to gap in the hedge and followed the hedge row up to the top of the hill ... spotted 'sugars' cross close to trig - pretty good views, especially from west round to east. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmAkTybWfa8

2/5 Parked on minor no-through road to the North by a gateway almost in line with the pillar and ascended two fields. Pillar has a coat of white paint and the views were superb on this sunny November day.
